Airlines I have used so far and my impressions

I’ve researched my travel history across the three major global airline alliances.

Based on this information, I’m considering my future travel plans and the possibility of aiming for elite status with each alliance.

In 2020, I progressed from “ANA Mileage Club Platinum” to becoming a “SUPER FLYERS Member,” which equates to “Star Alliance Gold” status.

Star Alliance, the largest airline group in the world with 26 member companies, includes ANA, my favorite airline considering both Japanese and international capital. I prefer ANA or ANA Group when uncertain about flight tickets or airlines.

  • ANA has received the highest 5-star rating for outstanding service among world airlines. ANA Skytrax Rating
  • ANA has been proactive in implementing measures against COVID-19, often using innovative and unique methods and products not seen with other airlines, which shows their effort.
  • Being born in Hokkaido, the operation of AirDo, “the wings of Hokkaido,” is very beneficial for Hokkaido residents.
  • The stock price has been relatively stable, maintaining a high value. ANA Stock Information

For other international airlines.

  • Air Canada flight attendants were notably energetic and engaged in conversation with me during a night flight.
  • Ethiopian Airlines now seems essential for travel to Africa, having risen to prominence over Kenya Airways as the main African airline.
  • I’d like to fly with Singapore Airlines again, given its 5-star service level, though it seems their ticket prices have increased.
  • Thai Airways not only provided good service but also impressed with its unified concept and branding, prominently featuring purple as its main color.

Oman Air2019/10Oman

Oneworld, with 13 member companies, is one of the two major airline groups alongside Star Alliance. With JAL being a member, opinions often diverge between Star Alliance and Oneworld fans.

My personal impression is that Oneworld tends to serve more minor routes, and I use it less frequently. However, both Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways have 5-star ratings, providing excellent service and operating flights to various countries without discrimination.

SkyTeam, larger than Oneworld with 18 member companies, may have a usage frequency comparable to Oneworld, but I haven’t been very satisfied with the aircraft or services, which I find comparable to low-cost carriers (LCCs).
