”Kōzu-shima”, Clear sea and beautiful night sky – Summary

Tokyo also has islands.

In this blog, I went to the Izu-Islands, so I have compiled a list of my trips to Kozu-shima.

Why is the head for islands?

When I have time, I travel. I can learn a lot from traveling.

I live in Tokyo, but I have been to various places on day trips from here. In addition, they have visited many prefectures throughout Japan.

However, I still want to go to a place I have never been to.

When I looked over the map, I saw that there was an island.

I only hear the name of the island on the news. My impression was that the weather was quite rough.

Summary

There was untouched nature.

The ocean is crystal clear and you can see the bottom, the night sky is pitch black and the stars shine clearly, and the mountains are soaring.

👍 Beautiful and beautiful nature

❌ The weather is changeable

Transportation – 4 hours by jet boat

You can get there in 4 hours by jet boat from Hamamatsu-cho, Tokyo. Although it is the last stop on the Oshima, Toshima, Niijima, Shikinejima, and Kozushima routes, it is quite close.

If it’s a large cruise ship, you can board it after work and arrive before noon the next day.

There are also small propeller planes, although they are few in number. It is convenient to travel as it is connected to Chofu.

Landscape – Night sky, sea, mountainsLandscape –

It is surrounded by untouched nature, such as the crystal-clear ocean where you can see the bottom, the pitch-black night sky where the stars shine clearly, and the towering mountains.

You will be overwhelmed by the vastness of nature. There is little foot traffic, so you can spend a moment forgetting the daily hustle and bustle of the city.

Food – Fresh golden sea bream

The fish on Kozushima is very fresh. Golden sea bream is especially special. Boiled fish is a must-try dish.

All the other shops had very fresh and delicious food.

Beer – The only brewery in the Izu Islands

The only brewery in the Izu Islands was located on Kozushima. There are also limited-edition brews using local specialties, so you can enjoy flavors that can only be found here.

The limited-edition brews included wild grapes and passion fruit, but the most delicious one was Ashuha. I got addicted to the unique bitter aftertaste.

Hostels – Old folk house guest houseHostels –

There are many old folk house guesthouses. Although the place we stayed in was an old-fashioned house, it was a very comfortable place to stay.

Hot Spring – Too great location

There is nothing better than a hot spring bath with a spectacular view.

The quality of the spring water is good, and it is what you would call salty hot water.

The open-air bath is unisex, so this was my first time in a hot spring where I had to wear a swimsuit.

Transportation – Bicycles depend on where you go.

Transportation options include island tour buses, rental bikes, and rental bicycles. Renting a bicycle was quite difficult as there were many slopes.

However, the roads are well maintained. It’s also very easy to ride on a bicycle. You can relax and enjoy your trip while enjoying the clear sea and the refreshing breeze.

Careful – Be careful as the weather can be rough

Although Tokyo is an island surrounded by the sea, it is easily affected by typhoons and cyclones.

The weather changes quickly. The jet boat I was returning to was canceled.

It may be necessary to plan your trip flexibly depending on the weather. However, large passenger ships generally seem to be moving.
